… and a wonderful day for Jacob’s Ladder. The sky was clear, the temperatures were perfect, and the food was delicious.
On 23 October, more than 60 lovers of those delectable bivalves known as the oyster gathered at Locklies Marina in Topping, Virginia to sample three varieties of this Chesapeake Bay delicacy. The Rappahannock River Oyster Company supplied guests with oysters ‘au naturel’ from the Rappahannock, Mobjack Bay (Stingrays) and Chincoteague (Olde Salts) as well as Rappahannocks steamed. For those who preferred, chili was also available.
Jacob’s Ladder raised $4000 from the event, all of which will go to support Climbers attending the 2012 Summer Enrichment Camp.
Thank you to everyone who came out!
